Wimberley, TX

Located in the Texas Hill Country, 15 miles northwest of San Marcos and 45 miles southwest of Austin, is historic Wimberley. Residents enjoy abundant wildlife, wildflowers and hills, all the things the Hill Country is known for.

The climate and setting make the community a popular weekend getaway and resort town. Recreational communities, bed and breakfasts, vacation resorts and youth camps dot the area. The Town Square is the hub of the village’s shopping scene. Folks love to come to the Wimberley Market Days held on the first Saturday of each month from April to December. Started in 1964, the market offers crafts, baked goods, jewelry, clothing, and books, among other things. A rodeo lasting several days is held to celebrate the Fourth of July each year and has a wonderful small town ambiance.

Just outside Wimberley is the incorporated development of Woodcreek, with an eighteen-hole championship golf course. Wimberley’s proximity to Austin and San Marcos makes it attractive to commuters.
